We are looking for inspirational and motivated individuals to support the Athletic Development of all students at Colfe’s School. The development of athletic skill and physical literacy underpins all Physical Activity and Sport at Colfe’s. This can be seen in our PE curriculum that is focused on the development of student’s Athletic Motor Skill Competencies in conjunction with extracurricular sessions that support our sport scholars and pupils involved with talent pathways.
Duties will include:
* Supporting curriculum session as part of the PE curriculum
* Delivering extracurricular sessions for students who require additional support regarding development of their Physical Literacy
* Delivering extracurricular sessions to groups of sport scholars and students on talent pathways
* Carry out testing and profiling to support effective tracking and target setting for students.
The successful candidate:
* Should have appropriate qualifications for the role e.g. UKSCA, SCE, 1st4Sport or equivalent.
* A relevant degree in Sport Science/Coaching/Strength and conditioning.
* Knowledge of long-term development practices for young male and female athletes.
* An ability to engage and motivate young people in athletic development practices and foster an enjoyment and understanding of athletic training.
* Well-developed administrative and organisational skills.
* An ability to work in a team and large department.
* A strong work ethic, punctuality, reliable and committed to personal development.
* Empathetic with parents, pupils and staff.
* An ability to be proactive and visionary in approach to athletic development.
Salary
This is a part time role that would involve 3.5 days per week and command a salary of £22,500 pa. This could be supplemented if the individual was able to contribute to the coaching of rugby and football at the school. The initial contract would be for a period of 12 months during which there would be a review to determine the possibility of the role continuing.
