We have an exciting opportunity to join the Pilgrims Europe Product & Innovation team with a vacancy for a Senior Development Chef that will sit within the Product Development & Innovation team. This role will support the Head of Culinary in encouraging in nurturing a food culture in the business, in line with our journey to become a world class food company. The successful candidate will work closely with food development technologists and marketing teams to provide our customers and category teams with delicious insight driven food concepts and platforms. Key areas of responsibility include (but not limited to): Work closely with key customer business units to deliver insight driven food that excites our customers and meets customer and category targets and strategies Manage product submissions with customers and demonstrate your ability to articulate clearly understanding of briefs, creativity in response, and an excellent grasp of the latest culinary trends Ensure the quality of samples and submissions is of the highest quality and on brief Support the Head of Culinary in identifying, developing and showcasing new trends and innovation that will inspire and influence our category plans to allow for new areas of business growth and opportunities Support category and site teams in implementing and training "Big Kitchen" teams in line with key customer development, innovation pipeline and future food planning Be a key driver in delivering our Food Academy training to transfer skills and knowledge to our I&D colleagues, wider commercial team including relevant business unit teams and key customers where appropriate Manage the day to day running of both the development and culinary kitchens ensuring effective health and safety measures and procedures are in place Cost saving management - apply cost saving measures to address ingredients and flesh waste Carry out regular individual performance and personal development reviews to facilitate and optimise skills development of the culinary team leading to a high performance Be a culinary mentor to the kitchen team and any new team members to promote culinary lead best practice Deliver best in class performance, fulfil stakeholder obligations and achieve compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements with regard to the environment, health and safety, ethical standards and company employment policies The successful candidate will hold C&G 706-1, 706-2 or NVQ equivalent, have exceptional culinary and creative food skills, excellent communication skills as well as project management experience.
