About the Role:
As a Business Development Manager, you will utilise your technical background to drive business growth and commercial strategy. Your main responsibilities will include research on the installed base, competitors, and market trends across industries like Nuclear, CCS, and Hydrogen. You would analyse large datasets to identify emerging opportunities, compile detailed reports, and present strategic insights to inform business growth. Additionally, you will collaborate on strategic planning, gather customer insights through tailored surveys, and provide forecasts to guide sales strategies and market expansion efforts.
Responsibilities:
* Provide data-driven insights on market dynamics, technological advancements, and customer preferences within the heavy engineering sector to support strategic decision-making.
* Attend industry exhibitions, trade shows, and networking events to gather market intelligence, foster relationships with potential clients, and stay updated on developments in the heavy engineering sector.
* Create detailed reports and presentations to effectively communicate findings to internal teams and stakeholders, driving business growth initiatives.
* Assist in developing strategies to target new opportunities in emerging markets such as Nuclear, CCS, and Hydrogen, as well as optimising engagement with existing heavy engineering clients.
* Understand their business objectives and undertake research and analysis of their markets, installed client base and potential organic growth.
* Interpret large volumes of data across industries and communicate findings to the Group.
Requirements:
* Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI) and web analytics, with the ability to interpret complex technical data specific to heavy engineering projects.
* Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, PowerPoint) and knowledge of industry databases and market research tools.
* Strong academic background in Engineering/Data Analytics.
* Analytical and critical thinking skills.
* A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
