Pell Frischmann is a specialist advisory and technical consultancy operating across the built and natural environment, helping to shape a better future for the communities in which we work. We offer consultancy services, with access to specialist sister companies and partners, to support both public and private-sector clients. We work across sectors encompassing buildings, infrastructure, and regeneration.
Originally formed in 1926, we have a unique heritage in delivering client-focused solutions that deliver value through our commercial awareness, sustainable aspirations, and innovative approach. Our distinctive future is defined by our ownership; Pell Frischmann is a part of RSBG SE, the patient capital investment arm of RAG-Stiftung. RAG-Stiftung is a foundation with the long-term public purpose to deal with the environmental and social commitments resulting from the closing of Germany’s coal mining industry. RSBG SE’s mission is to generate sustainable funds for the foundation; so, our work directly contributes to the challenge of fighting global pollution and climate change.
About the Role
Based in our growing Edinburgh team, you will assist in the production of the final AutoCAD drawings for a range of projects ranging from swept path assessments, junction layouts, cycleway design, housing developments, through to large scale renewable projects across Europe.
The Edinburgh team offers a unique opportunity to be fully remote in your work; however, as the team meets up regularly, you would still need to be able to access Edinburgh for team meetings. This should not preclude applications from anywhere within the UK.
As part of your role, you will be able to establish a sound understanding of the client brief. Implementing your own initiative and technical skills, you will support the wider (multi-disciplinary) project team through safe, efficient, and effective delivery of tasks to deadlines. This will ensure that the project remains within budget and to agreed standards. You will be responsible for the delivery of assigned tasks whilst acting under minimal supervision; therefore, you will be expected to plan your own work to meet given objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Implement project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards.
* You will have experience of AutoCAD, and the use of Civils would be beneficial but not essential.
* Prepare own discipline designs, drawings, and schedules as identified in the Project Quality.
* A solid understanding of Autodesk Vehicle Tracking is essential; it is also preferable for the candidate to have an understanding of modelling oversized (Abnormal Indivisible Load) vehicles.
* Assist other CAD Technicians and ensure that all drawings are complete and sent to meet tight deadlines.
* Experience in QGIS is desirable but not essential.
* Work alongside the Project Manager to ensure completion of jobs.
* Manage your own workload and have all the relevant information from the briefs.
