Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEND? New Formation is excited to partner with a brilliant primary school in the Borough of Kingston Upon Thames who are on the search for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils in EYFS/KS1 who require speech & language support. This has potential to be a part-time role, working three days a week.
About the Role
In this rewarding position, you'll work within a mainstream school environment, supporting students with SEND. You'll play a pivotal role in helping students build confidence, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with SEND in their academic and personal development.
- Follow a Speech & Language programme for each child.
- Managing and positively influencing challenging behaviours.
- Working closely with teachers and support staff in a collaborative, team-based setting.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: A background in teaching / TA work is preferable but not essential.
- Qualification: Minimum grade C or above in maths & English GCSE. A childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
- Team Player: A collaborative mindset and a passion for working as part of a supportive team.
- Adaptability: Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Training: Safeguarding training is essential - if you do not have this, we're able to provide free training for you
