Role Overview
Compass Associates is delighted to be working alongside a leading bespoke specialist residential care and education provider for vulnerable children and adults in the Hampshire region. Established over 23 years ago, the organisation has grown into a cohort of homes based in the New Forest with a specialist school rated as Outstanding by Ofsted. They have a sterling reputation with 0% agency use!
The organisation provides therapeutic care mainly specializing in children coming from early trauma, complex attachment histories, and mental health.
Together, we are looking for a Mental Health Nurse to join their expanding multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will be clinically collaborating with Psychologists, Psychotherapists, OTs, Art Therapists, and SALT in providing high-quality care.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Therapeutic Assessments
2. Working with the Education and Care team members to ensure the therapeutic framework is followed for each child
3. Provide consistent support to the children and their families if involved
Location
New Forest, Hampshire – commutable from Southampton, Lymington, Brockenhurst, and Romsey
Work Pattern
Monday – Friday working at site, 9 AM to 5 PM, NO ON CALL, WEEKENDS, or NIGHTS
The Candidate
1. Essential: NMC registered as a Mental Health Nurse
2. Experience collaborating with other members of a multi-disciplinary team
3. Good knowledge within crisis and psychosocial interventions, Mental Health Act
4. Sound judgment on risk assessments
5. Genuine interest in working with Children and Young People coming from challenging mental health backgrounds
6. Good communicator and ability to connect
7. Clear DBS
Interview Process
2 stages: 1st stage will be via MS Teams and a ‘Chemistry Meeting’, informal conversation of the role in detail and your experience with one of the members of the Senior Management team, followed by a 2nd and final stage interview at the service – competency-based.
Salary and Benefits
Up to £39,500 per annum
