The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Planner Buyer to join our Dell Technologies EMEA team at EssenceMediacom London. As a Senior Planner Buyer, you will be responsible for supporting the team with the planning and buying of media for our clients. This includes conducting research, analyzing data, efficiently running campaigns, negotiating with media vendors, and presenting recommendations to clients. You will also be trained by our team to develop responsibility for maintaining client relationships, as well as working closely with other specialist teams within the agency.
This role will allow you to further develop an understanding of B2B and Ecommerce marketing principles that are a key part of Dell’s success as a company, as well as how the media market operates, plus a good skillset in negotiation. There is a particular need for Dell Technologies in EMEA to provide a best-in-class evolution of approach to digital innovation, building on our ways of working with vendors in a bespoke way based on our client’s needs, but also provide new strategies and recommendations with the cookieless future impacting some existing elements of our approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate strategic planning activities between clients and internal stakeholders.
* Create media strategy & rationale and work with AD to package and present back to client.
* Understand and implement the System planning process where necessary, which the candidate will be trained on where they start in the role.
* Interpret client briefs in order to develop a strategic and implementation plan.
* Conduct research and interpret data to apply strategic insights to help define central planning approach.
* Participate in all client meetings as required and contribute to the production of any presentations.
* Identify key risks to the delivery and performance against brief on a regular basis and manage remedial programmes to mitigate such risk, escalating as appropriate and as obliged.
* Contribute constructively to the identification and improvement of central processes which could deliver higher performance.
* Act with initiative, contribute to the definition of new processes and support the rollout and implementation e.g. training of the team in such processes.
* Remain up to date with market trends to advise customers of future strategy.
* Understand the markets and customer demographics.
* Take accountability for sharing key customer information across the team and with other teams as appropriate.
* Ensure relevant business knowledge is deployed, shared and retained within the team and shared across the wider function where relevant.
Skills, Behaviours and Experience Required
* Experience working in planning and buying media campaigns including exposure to programmatic media.
* A strong understanding of programmatic advertising.
* Highly analytical with a honed ability to problem-solve.
* Ability to think strategically and with a future focus.
* Team player with excellent people skills.
* Demonstrate excellent competency of using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Effective and efficient working style.
* Technically minded yet service-industry-suited with the potential to develop into client leadership and more advanced staff management roles.
* Excellent written & verbal English language skills/grammar; a strong communicator.
