Job Description Business Development Manager 37.5 hours per week Site and Field Based Competitive salary plus car allowance Westbourne Centre - Birmingham The Westbourne Centre was launched in January 2009 by four well-established surgeons who wanted to provide a safe and pleasant environment for their patients and have the opportunity to work collaboratively to bring about new methods for treatments. Joined by Ramsay Healthcare in a joint venture, The Westbourne Centre is able to offer individualised care and treatment with the support of a major UK healthcare provider. The Role: As a member of the senior leadership team, you will support the HM/HD with the hospital strategic and business plans. Develop and execute a strategic growth plan to increase private and PMI referrals across all specialities the hospital provides. Support the booking teams to secure and enhance referrals and pathways. Build effective, long-term partnerships with current and potential referrers with the objective of driving revenue into The Westbourne Centre. Undertake market analysis, competitor analysis and identify target territories and commercial opportunities to drive growth and expand market share. Duties and Responsibilities: Support development and execute a growth strategy for all referrals. Contribute to the development and execution of the business development and growth strategies for all referrals. Build effective, long-term partnerships with current and potential referrers with the objective of driving revenue into The Westbourne Centre. Explore opportunities to gain market insights. Undertake market analysis, competitor analysis and identify target territories and commercial opportunities to drive growth. Work effectively with your line manager and collegiately with key internal stakeholders such as the Private Patient Manager/GPL/Team to achieve business growth. Have a thorough understanding of the hospital’s facilities, services and consultants to allow effective promotion of overall capabilities. Record sales and events activity in a timely manner within agreed KPIs. Engage with the commercial contracts team to facilitate and maximise opportunities with PMI contracts and networks. Achieve personal monthly KPIs and any additional targets as defined by your Line Manager. Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals set by the company. Focus on closing deals and converting opportunities into tangible business contracts. Excellent relationships with partners at all levels to foster loyalty and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services. Identify and develop new income opportunities within existing relationships and produce business cases to support. Liaise with Marketing to ensure we have the best material to support our growth and increase brand awareness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create customized and compelling business proposals that address the specific requirements of potential clients. Collaborate with relevant departments to improve patient access to services. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure a first-class customer experience is delivered to patients, resulting in loyalty and increased advocacy and recommendation. Ensure existing referral and enquiry opportunities are fully maximised to deliver growth. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to provide valuable insights and adapt business strategies. Live and breathe key metrics and data, analysing and identifying any drops in performance and then putting a plan together to address any issues found. Monitor and track business development activities, analyse performance metrics, and present monthly reports to management. Use data insights to refine strategies and improve results. Produce monthly performance reports to deliver internally and externally. Generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, attending industry events, leveraging online platforms, and referrals. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients. Lead negotiations with clients on contract terms, pricing, and other commercial aspects to ensure mutually beneficial agreements are reached. Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to promote Brand visibility and establish new connections. Essential Experience: Previous experience of working in a similar role within healthcare and/or a proven track record in a sales or business development environment. Strong organisational skills, results driven and proactive. Self- starter who is motivated to explore and propose additional/incremental revenue streams. To be articulate and confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, proven to command respect with senior managers in the industry with the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Awareness of the industry and the opportunities within it. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently in a field-based role to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams. Highly analytical with strong business acumen, capable of using data insights to drive decision-making and refine business strategies. Flexibility across sites and willingness to travel as needed to represent the company at industry events and client meetings. Full UK driving licence. Preferred Experience : Previous business development experience A sound knowledge of the healthcare market Experience of data analysis and creating outcome reports based on KPIs.
