We are recruiting for Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse for a hospital that provides inpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The focus of the service is to help people to live their best life in a safe and supportive environment. Bespoke Therapeutic Placement (BTP) provides a single person service for patients with increased or complex needs. PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) informs many of our interventions. BTP’s are a Single person service - Bespoke therapeutic environment. They allow for more individualised care. The team adapts to the patient’s needs. It supports patients to progress through their care pathway and aims to reduce the admission length. In BTPs there is a lower stimulus environment and a reduction in restrictive practice.
BTPs have higher staffing ladders per patient. A BTP offers dedicated and stable care, a consistent nursing team, and familiarity which helps enable the patient to form friendships and trusteed relationships.
Increased activity engagement and section 17 leave.
The role of the Deputy Ward Manager is to provide senior nursing leadership to the ward nursing team in support of the Ward Manager. They will have clinical experience and leadership that provides expertise and confidence to the nursing team and ward overall. They will have defined delegated responsibilities from the Ward Manager.
