About the role:
If you are looking to develop your skills and experience in the industry whilst on a yearlong placement then apply for a placement opportunity with us! Working on live projects, you’ll have a chance to make a real impact.
You’ll work within a design team gaining a valuable insight into engineering systems design, improving your practical application of engineering theory and gaining an introduction to the fast-moving world of construction and consultancy. You’ll be part of progressive and exciting projects, able to experience innovative schemes and gain knowledge across all sectors.
By the end of your placement, you should be able to make a more informed decision about your career path.
In this key and varied role, you can expect to:
1. Work alongside our project teams across multi-disciplinary projects to deliver state-of-the-art, sustainable and cost-considered solutions.
2. Undertake a range of modelling and analysis, which may include but not be limited to: embodied carbon of materials, circular economy opportunities, building performance simulation, operational energy use, energy generation, overheating.
3. Assist in the delivery of environmental assessments (such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc) from early design stages through to completion.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will need:
1. Applications are welcomed from students that are currently studying towards a degree in a sustainability related subject.
2. Enthusiasm, ambition, and creativity.
3. A team player. Our excellent teams are the basis of our great work.
4. Self-motivated and hardworking.
5. IT proficient (Microsoft Office).
6. Good time management and organisation skills.
7. A keen eye for detail.
8. Ability to learn digital engineering and modelling software including IES, 2D/3D AutoCAD and REVIT software.
9. Good communication skills and enthusiasm for working within a team environment.
10. Serious about sustainability.
