We are now recruiting for Head Waiter in London.
JOB PROFILE DESCRIPTION:
The headwaiter is responsible for the overall guest experience and wellbeing, overseeing and supporting the chef de rang in their duties. The main responsibility of the headwaiter is order taking and managing the flow of tables to ensure a good tempo within the section and timely turnover of tables.
PRE SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Allocate duties for CDR
* Clean linen count and storage
* Refill the stations with printer rolls, PDQ rolls, and order pads
* Check the table allocation with the front desk and update the floor
* Check levels and cleanliness of olive oil, salt and pepper, oregano, and sauces
* Ensure CDR duties and stations are ready for service
* Attend the pre-service briefing
SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist the hostess/host to seat customers
* Greet guests and take drink orders if the waiter is busy
* Place drink orders with position numbers
* Serve drinks if the waiter is busy
* Explain the menu and specials
* Check with the waiter for any guest information before approaching the table
* Take food orders (check for allergies or intolerances)
* Place orders on Micros
* NB: In case of allergy or intolerance, specify in Micros and inform the manager on duty immediately.
* Check mise en place and ensure enough space is available for food on the table
* Assist the CDR in serving food at the table
* Call hot starters away
* Refresh plates between courses for cold and hot starters
* Call mains away after starters and clear the table with the CDR
* NB: Always call a table away before clearing it
* Clear, crumb, and replace the tablecloth after mains before handing out dessert menus
* Ensure dessert and coffee orders are placed by the waiter
* Check the bill on Micros and add the BILL CHECKED item for confirmation
POST SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure the station is emptied by the waiter
* Close all bills and hand them over to the closing manager
* Check any open comp tables with the managers
* Hand over station tips to the closing manager
