What you’ll do In this role you will be a Team Leader with Engineering responsibilities within a field Engineering team. Accountable within the Midlands, North & Scotland region to lead the local team, support liaising with customer, creating accurate requirements for subsequent installation, commissioning, and handover of new services to Operations. Role also requires 24/7 fault cover (when on call) for multiple network types (DWDM/IP), which provide service to the Project team and the customer. Lead your local team of Field tech specialists and 24x7 field engineers, managing timesheets and other admin tasks to support the Field Manager Undertake surveys, installation, commissioning and testing on Customer & Vodafone network sites, to current Secure Sector specifications and provide on call 24/7 fault cover as part of a rota at sites throughout the UK. Lead the managed service delivery and support managed services delivery in VBSE, taking responsibility for all VBSE and customer specific services across customer and network sites within geographical area of operation and delegating to regional team members as necessary. Interpret complex designs and own the requirement to survey/install managed services whilst collaborating with Project, Design, Build, Assure and customer teams to ensure all aspects of equipment installation, commissioning and testing are fully supported. Keep site information and documentation up-to-date, including detailed recording on inventory systems (DCIM or other) where appropriate, in line with VBSE requirements and build and Maintain relationships with key customer and their sites and provide a professional interface to Customers, suppliers and Vodafone colleagues. Who you are Experienced in DWDM and IP networks in a Telecoms Provider environment and be flexible to adapt to wider service delivery requirements. Be able to effectively use Telecoms test equipment that is relevant to support the roles duties. Experience of managing, leading or mentoring other members of staff. Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods, setting own goals, priorities and responsibilities. Hands on knowledge of Ciena transmission and Cisco/Juniper configuration to CCNA to install and commission both Optical and DCN IP management platforms.
