This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Welding Quality Control Inspector, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You will be responsible for ensuring standards are met regarding welding on-site.
Day to day, you'll read inspection test plans, inspect work, and produce reports.
1. Perform witnessing as required by the Inspection and Test Plans to meet MEH programme demand, working to project deadlines and targets.
2. Record results for inspections undertaken, highlighting any non-conformance and accepting or rejecting finished items as required
3. Liaise with the Area Quality Leads to ensure appropriate levels of surveillance are deployed and support the relevant surveillance plans
4. Work alongside the fabrication / installation team to ensure all contracted requirements have been met.
5. Review quality records for accuracy and adequacy of content to allow the compilation of lifetime records to support End of Erection Status Reports
This role is full time, 38 hours per week and will be based at the Hinkley Point C site in Bridgwater.
Essential experience of the Welding Quality Control Inspector
6. Experience as QC Inspector
7. Experience in a highly regulated industry.
Qualifications for the Welding Quality Control Inspector
8. Qualifications in an Engineering discipline, ONC / HNC / HND (or equivalent experience).
9. PCN or CSWIP
10. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
