Fancy leading a team of engineers who maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles, as well as managing plant and buildings? **Joining bonus of £1,500**
We’re looking for a Fleet Engineer to join and lead our Ayr Engineering team. You will develop your engineering team to enhance their skills, passing on all of your technical knowledge to both experienced technicians and eager-to-learn apprentices alike. People management won’t be completely new to you. You don’t have to be an existing Fleet Engineer, but you’ll need to provide evidence of how you’ve managed teams, irrespective of their size. Working together with our operational teams to ensure excellent service delivery will be second nature.
We are looking for an experienced engineer to join and lead our engineering team at our Ayr depot based in West Scotland. You’ll be leading a dedicated team of engineers who maintain and repair a modern and varied fleet of over 55 vehicles so our customers can travel safely and comfortably every day.
We’ve big plans and are looking for someone to help us deliver them. We are already introducing a fleet of Electric Vehicles into the area. We are looking for someone who is friendly, flexible, reliable and takes pride in their work. It’s a really important role within our depot, so we’ll trust you to ensure vehicles are presented to the high standards that our customers want – you’ll have autonomy over resource management, stock and people. We’ll provide support, training and development wherever you need to be a brilliant Fleet Engineer.
Aside from the satisfaction of being a key worker in your community, there are many reasons for you to join the Stagecoach West Scotland team...
Great benefits including a generous company pension scheme, 28 days annual leave (increasing to 33 after 2 years), free travel for you and a companion, and a range of money-saving opportunities including discounts on holidays and retail, cinema outings, dental insurance, vehicle breakdown cover and hotels and attractions.
Free travel for you and a companion on our buses – so on your days off you can shop without worrying about parking or fuel costs.
Training – a dedicated high-level training programme to reinforce your existing skills and provide an opportunity to gain a qualification in another trade.
Varied work – it’s not all depot-based work; you could find yourself out and about dealing with vehicle issues on the road. As one of the UK’s leading transport operators, we’re investing heavily in electric vehicles and depot infrastructure, so there’s plenty to keep you interested.
Job security from being a key worker at the heart of our communities, where we always need great people servicing our fleet of vehicles.
A safe environment – we provide boots, overalls and specialist equipment so you don’t have to worry about safety or having the right kit for the job.
Career development through developing your technical skills on future hybrid and electric vehicles, with career progression to management and directorship.
Secondment opportunities to work elsewhere in the business – either on big events or into our head office support functions.
An employee assistance programme to support health and wellbeing through a confidential service available 24 hours a day.
A great working environment with opportunities to make new friends and work with inclusive networks.
Joining bonus of £1,500 paid in instalments.
The recruitment process is simple – apply with your CV, we’ll review it, then invite you for an interview and a tour of the depot.
If you love working in engineering, have a passion for leading teams, and want to join the incredible Stagecoach family in Ayr, we’d love to receive your application!
