About the role: As an SEMH Teacher, you will be at the forefront of providing tailored educational experiences that meet the unique needs of students with SEMH challenges. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes both academic achievement and personal growth. Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH requirements. Develop and implement strategies to support students' social, emotional and mental health, fostering resilience and positive self-esteem. Utilize effective behaviour management techniques to create a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere. Work closely with colleagues, parents and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education and well-being. Regularly assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods as necessary. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed of best practices in SEMH education. The Successful Candidate Will: A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS or equivalent ) with a specialism in SEMH or relevant experience. Demonstrated experience working with secondary school students with SEMH needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students and colleagues. A genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs, coupled with patience, empathy and resilience. The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse needs and manage challenging behaviours effectively. To work with GSL Education, you need to: Have the right to work in the UK. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
