The Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic consultant psychiatrist to join the CAMHS Service in the Restormel Area (St Austell and Newquay). The post holder will provide clinic leadership to the CAMHS Team and contribute to the assessment and therapeutic needs of children, young people, and their families in a range of settings and will work collaboratively with other members of the team to plan and deliver appropriate tailored treatment plans.
We offer a recruitment incentive package to the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
This post is part of the leadership team within the service and will provide appropriate support and supervision to other team members. The post holder will be part of a clinical team providing specialist psychiatric advice to the multidisciplinary team. There is the potential to support medical trainees and advanced clinical practitioners, who will be supervised by the consultant.
The post-holder, along with other senior members of the CAMHS team in Restormel, will be responsible for ensuring effective communication with referring and receiving teams throughout the Trust and primary care. Where appropriate, the post-holder will join therapy sessions in complex cases. While primarily responsible for delivering a quality clinical service, the consultant psychiatrist is also expected to be actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services, being involved with the service manager in helping to steer the development of the service in line with the strategic direction of the organization.
The successful candidate will develop a personal development plan for lifelong learning. We also offer new appointees the chance to extend their development. If you would like to undertake a further qualification, undertake research, or involve yourself in our transformation, we are happy to consider a flexible supporting professional activity offer above the standard 2.5.
About us
We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.
We are a people organization, and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.
Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.
We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work, and a great partner.
Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays, lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
