Are you a motivated and dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapist with a passion for general physical rehabilitation? We are seeking someone to work within NELFT's London based Intensive Rehabilitation Service (IRS).
The IRS is a large multidisciplinary community team that offers an alternative to hospital bed-based rehabilitation, supporting patients to recover at home. The IRS works closely with inpatient rehabilitation services and acute partners to enable early facilitated discharges while supporting patients through an intensive rehabilitation programme. As part of the Band 6 team within IRS, you will manage your own caseload of community patients and help support other therapists in IRS by providing training, supervision, and joint sessions.
There is an expectation to join the weekend rota and late shifts (12-8pm).
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the post holder are:
1. To work flexibly and assist in effective and efficient delivery of the service.
2. To prioritise workload, delegate and supervise more junior staff including support staff and students, to aid provision of high standards of patient care.
3. To assess the Physiotherapy needs of a defined patient group and establish and evaluate appropriate treatment plans, including chronic, acute, and palliative care within own competencies.
4. To monitor, evaluate, and modify treatment for patients with multiple pathologies to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of treatment.
5. To select and apply Physiotherapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing any skill deficits and enabling patients in the areas of productivity, self, and leisure.

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently partway through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment.
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436).

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc Physio
* HCPC registration
Experience
* NHS experience as B5/6 Physiotherapist
* Previous experience in clinical governance and clinical audit
* Previous experience with community-based rehabilitation
Skills
* Basic awareness of IT and IT skills
* Ability to work as an effective team member with excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in partnership with patients, families, and other health care providers.
Other
* Ability to carry out moderate physical manual handling throughout the day as part of clinical duties.
* To be aware of and demonstrate the Trust Values
* Ability to travel efficiently and effectively across all sites within NELFT
