About the Science Department: The Science department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared passion for igniting a love of science in our students. We have a strong track record of success in science examinations, and our students regularly participate in science competitions and events. About the Role: Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on Biology at Key Stage 4 and A Level. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, with a particular emphasis on practical work in Biology. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys in Science. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Science curriculum remains relevant, challenging, and inspiring. Share your passion for Biology with students, encouraging them to explore the natural world and develop their scientific understanding. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Science education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Science, with a specialism in Biology. Demonstrates a passion for teaching Science and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Science. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
