About the Role
As a Funeral Director, you will:
1. Meet with families, executors, and representatives to organize and advise on funeral arrangements.
2. Manage all aspects of the funeral process, including registration of death, coordinating logistics, and conducting funerals.
3. Liaise with doctors, clergy, crematorium and cemetery authorities, and other relevant parties to ensure seamless arrangements.
4. Supervise team members during funerals to ensure all tasks are performed efficiently and respectfully.
5. Maintain accurate records, input funeral details into the administration system, and issue invoices as needed.
6. Handle follow-up tasks such as the disposal of cremation ashes and memorial sales.
7. Participate in a 1:6 out-of-hours telephone and removal rota, providing support to families and care facilities.
Ideally you will have:
1. Experience: Previous experience in an office environment and/or managing people in an emotionally sensitive context. Experience in a caring industry is a plus.
2. Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency with computer systems (training provided for the company's software).
3. Qualifications: A-levels, business studies, or a funeral directing qualification.
4. Attributes: Dependable, empathetic, team-oriented, and capable of multitasking.
5. Requirements: A valid driver's license, own vehicle, and ability to travel to Bexhill and Battle.
