We are looking for a skilled, confident and caring HLTA to join our team at Little Heaton CE Primary School from September 2025. This is a permanent role providing PPA cover across the school and contributing to our wider behaviour and nurture strategy.
You will be joining us at a key moment in our school’s development. With a new Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in post from Easter 2025, we are building a fresh, ambitious and nurturing culture and we are looking for someone ready to get stuck in and be part of this exciting journey.
The role includes:
* Delivering high-quality lessons across the school during teacher PPA time (planning provided).
* Building strong, positive relationships with children in all year groups.
* Using effective, trauma-informed behaviour strategies to support individuals and classes.
* Working as part of our developing approach to nurture, inclusion and emotional regulation.
* Being a calm, consistent presence across the school especially for children who need it most.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Is a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with experience leading learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
* Has a strength in behaviour support and a calm, consistent approach.
* Understands how to support children with SEMH and additional needs in a respectful, inclusive way.
* Is flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to the needs of different classes and situations.
* Works well as part of a team and shares ideas to improve provision.
* Is passionate about making a difference especially for children who need extra support to succeed.
In return, we offer:
* A warm, welcoming school with children who are full of potential.
* A staff team who are ready to work together and support each other.
* A leadership team who value their support staff and are committed to professional development.
* Opportunities to shape and grow our nurture and behaviour provision alongside school leaders.
* Access to trust-wide training and collaboration through the Cranmer Education Trust.
Working for Little Heaton means that you would be part of the Cranmer Education Trust, a successful, growing Trust which prides itself on looking after its people, offering a high level of support and access to expertise. This is an excellent time to join the team, as we develop collaborative structures and systems to enhance and support our growing family of schools.
Alongside Little Heaton, the Trust is made up of primary and secondary schools across Oldham and Rochdale. The Trust also incorporates a teacher training school and the East Manchester Teaching Hub and a MFL hub, which support the training and development of new and existing teachers across the North West of England.
We offer:
* Opportunities for professional development in a growing Trust.
* A strong school community that places children, families and staff at the heart of everything we do.
* A supportive team who will work with and alongside you to achieve the very best.
* LGPS career average pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
Little Heaton is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
