We have an exciting opportunity to work in The Manchester College’s Quality Team on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.
The role will be based at City Campus Manchester but required travel to other college campuses.
The Manchester College is part of the wider LTE Group, which is the first integrated education and skills group of its kind and is made up of a number of business units: The Manchester College (TMC), Novus, UCEN Manchester, Total People/MOL.
Based within the central Quality Team at The Manchester College, you will be part of our team of highly talented Advanced Practitioners who have a passion for improving teaching, learning and assessment and you will make a critical contribution to improving the quality of education across the college.
Amongst wider responsibilities, you will:
* Be a leading advocate for teachers and students and ensure consistently high-quality teaching, learning and assessment is our first priority.
* Design and deliver high-quality CPD programmes and make a significant contribution to the annual teaching and learning conference.
* Carry out a substantial caseload of learning walks to evaluate the quality of provision and the impact of CPD.
* Carry out a substantial caseload of student focus groups to evaluate the quality of provision.
* Lead on a small caseload of two-day curriculum deep dives that will result in an evaluative report, including key improvement actions.
* Take a lead role in reviewing teachers’ assessment, feedback, and target-setting practices.
* Work with teachers as part of curriculum enhanced support reviews to provide in-classroom. support and coaching
* Confidently support teachers to use a range of IT platforms in the classroom and for online teaching.
The right person for the role will have:
* A recognised teaching qualification.
* Degree level qualification or relevant professional qualification(s) and/or appropriate level and range of relevant industrial experience.
* Numeracy and literacy skills (to level 2 or equivalent).
* At least 3 years’ successful teaching/training/assessment experience (able to demonstrate why/how it was very successful, evidence of being an outstanding practitioner).
* Successful experience of planning, designing and delivering staff development/CPD for teachers/trainers/assessors.
* Successful teaching and assessment experience and/or leadership and management experience in the post-16 sector.
* Ability to evaluate quality and analyse data reliably within the post-16 sector.
* A willingness to travel to various campus locations.
