Job Role A Network Security Consultant is a specialized professional responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of an organization's computer networks and information systems. They work to protect against various cyber threats, including malware, hackers, and data breaches, by implementing robust security measures and best practices. Checkpoint expert with strong knowledge of network infrastructure security on firewalls ,routers, switches and the associated network protocols and concepts is required. Minimum of 5 year’s proven experience as a Network Security Engineer/Consultant with primary experience in Checkpoint with complementary experience with Fortinet and F5 Primary Duties/Responsibilities include: Security Assessment and Analysis: Evaluate existing network infrastructure for vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security threats and their impact. Understand firewall/load balancing/web proxy deployments, troubleshooting intrinsically. Analyse security logs and incidents to detect and respond to security breaches. Security Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive network security strategies and policies. Recommend security solutions and technologies to address identified vulnerabilities or gaps. Create disaster recovery and incident response plans. Firewall and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS): Configure, manage, and monitor firewall and IDS/IPS systems. Fine-tune rule sets to enhance network security and minimize false positives. Security Infrastructure Deployment: Install, configure, and maintain security appliances and software. Including firewalls, VPN Terminators, Load Balancers and Web Proxies. Network Access Control: Establish access control policies and mechanisms to control network access. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Incident Response and Remediation: Be available for escalation of security incidents. Contribute to root causes analysis, and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate with other IT teams to mitigate security breaches and recover compromised systems. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of security configurations, incidents, and resolutions. Generate regular security reports for management and stakeholders. Present project and security reporting to internal and client management Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master's preferred). Vendor certification/hands on experience with CheckPoint, Fortinet, F5, Zscaler, Ivanti Pulse Secure Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security, are considered a plus Proven experience in network security, with a deep understanding of network protocols and architectures. Strong knowledge of security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001). Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
