We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Inpatient Mental Health team at HMP Preston, a category B Prison located in Preston.
HMP Preston is a remand male prison age from 18+ with a capacity of 680.
The Mental Health Nurse will be based in the 18 bedded unit within a prison environment.
Hours
Monday - Sunday, 37.5 hours per week. Shifts are: 7.30am - 6pm and 7.30am - 8.30pm.
Salary
This position is full-time, with an annual salary between £42,094 to £48,674 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Primary Care Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
* Leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
* Undertaking medication rounds, dispensing controlled medication, attending emergency response situations, assessing patients, and undertaking reception screening.
* Providing outstanding evidence-based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalized and informed by what matters to them.
* Delivering non-judgmental care that makes a real difference.
* Inspiring excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of.
* Promoting best practice, clinical supervision, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
* Sharing knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.

* Registered nurse – Adult.
* Current professional qualification (NMC).
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development.

* Motivated as an individual and when working in a team.
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
