Description
The Licensing team at Flint Bishop acts on behalf of a number of household name clients in the Leisure and Hospitality sector and is looking for a Licensing Paralegal to join the team.
Previous licensing experience is not necessary, and training will be given to the appropriate candidate. The role may suit someone who aspires to qualify as a Solicitor in the field of Licensing (subject to a separate process which leads to appointment as a Trainee Solicitor) or as a Chartered Legal Executive. The role may also suit somebody from a Regulatory background, for example, in the Police or a Local Authority.
Key Responsibilities
1. Confidentially manage a caseload of high calibre work and clients in conjunction with the licensing team.
2. Prepare Licensing applications.
3. Liaise with Licensing Authorities and other Responsible Authorities.
4. Deal with resulting queries.
5. Work with the firm's clients in relation to their matters.
6. Handle confidential information.
7. Conduct legal research.
8. Assist other team members when required.
9. Assist with marketing and business development efforts.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
1. Prepared to support the undertaking of Scottish Licensing (training given) with the licensing team.
2. Excellent IT skills and existing experience of working with a case management system.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. A track record of superb client care skills.
5. A real desire to learn and progress.
6. Enthusiastic about the Leisure and Hospitality sector.
