About the role:
We are seeking to appoint a Project Test Lead to provide central oversight and coordination on our Systems for our Future Project which is the implementation of Active H our new Housing Management system.
In this role, you will lead a team of testers to ensure quality assurance of delivery. You will work closely with the project superusers and MIS systems implementation team and support the administration of the TEST, TRAIN & SAND PIT system environments.
Role requirements
This role will be predominantly office based supporting our new system testing with some home working and visits to our offices across the North West. Suitable candidates will therefore need to be based in the North West of England to undertake this fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordination of Project Test Activities: Working closely with the Systems for our Future project team, you will take ownership of developing the testing strategy for the Active H implementation. Overseeing the testing process, producing script templates, supporting the definition of test cases, managing the delivery of testing.
2. Onward Project Methodology: Learn to use the Onward project management methodology and best practices. Contribute to the identification and mitigation of potential risks and issues that may arise associated to testing.
3. Communication & Change Management: Reporting on status of testing to project stakeholders using analysis to evaluate the quality of the work. Provide support to project team by highlighting lessons to improve process.
4. Systems for our Future: Support the Systems for our Future project implementation and roll-out and any project dependencies.
Skills experience and knowledge
Essential:
* Previous experience in system testing, writing high quality test scripts and managing test environments.
* Excellent communication and listening skills to deliver a high-quality efficient service and the ability to support less experienced members of the team.
* Ability to work to deliver a high level of customer services.
* Ability to manage data accurately and to demonstrate attention to detail.
* Demonstrable skills including documentation, facilitation of meetings, maintaining trackers, progress management and liaising with stakeholders.
* Proven ability to manage a varied workload whilst achieving priorities and objectives.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve collective goals.
* Commitment to being accountable for own knowledge, skills, time management and personal development.
Desirable:
* Experience of migration to automated testing processes and scripts.
* Openness to mentoring, commitment to continuous learning.
* Aptitude for problem solving and negotiation skills.
* Interest and familiarity of Project Management discipline.
* Interest in and passion for digital technologies.
* Worked to any of the following methodologies: Agile, Waterfall, hybrid. Using APM, PMI or Prince2.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Educated to A level standard or equivalent qualification/experience.
