Your role and responsibilities As part of the Family Solutions team offering an intensive, time limited intervention to families affected by drugs and alcohol you will: work closely with children and families affected by drugs and alcohol, where there is a strong likelihood that without intervention they will be unable to remain at home or in their current placement develop robust safety plans and explore family networks to reduce risk give practical and emotional support to families and children support children who are living with substance misusing parent support and guide young people and/or parents to manage their recovery write reports and keep confidential records. You will need sound knowledge and skill base around working with those families affected by drug and alcohol misuse and implementing recovery plans strong assessment and planning skills to ensure young people remain safe the ability to create strong networking skills with other agencies. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application. The team The Family Solutions Team is countywide with teams based in Lowestoft, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. We deliver intensive targeted support to families who are experiencing a range of complex needs; substance misuse, domestic violence and families who are suffering poor family relationships. We provide an SOS trauma-informed, restorative approach to enable caregivers to recognise, acknowledge and fully understand the outlined worries and support them to make positive changes by building on and empowering them with skills, knowledge, and safety measures. We will specifically offer an intervention to: divert children and young people from entering care (Prevent entering care) support children to return home following a stay in Emergency Bed Accommodation in which a 10-day period of Child in Care has been agreed as a short break. An immediate 4 week package will be offered to include a family network meeting. (Unplanned breakdown) reunify children from a care setting where it has been assessed as safe to do so (Reunification) stabilise placements by supporting children, young people, and their placement providers where there is a risk of the child entering unregulated placements (Restore and prevent).
