Job Title: Warehouse and Admin Assistant
Salary: £22,877
Hours: Full time, Permanent. Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00, 1 hour breaks.
Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire
The role of the Warehouse and Admin Assistant is to work as part of the Archive and Library team and to support the Archive & Library Manager and colleagues in delivering a forward-looking and efficient service, ensuring that the Archive and Library fully support the functions of Penguin Random House and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Catalogues new incoming stock according to the Dewey Decimal Classification system.
2. Works with the Archive & Library team to ensure that the stock is shelved, stored and circulated as required.
3. Understands, and delivers, required Archive and Library processes and tasks, such as arranging deliveries and filing contracts.
4. Other related duties as requested by the Archive & Library Manager.
Essential Skills
1. Experience of working in a library, archive or information service.
2. Good computer skills including the ability to maintain databases and records.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Accuracy and good organisation skills.
5. Ability to prioritise tasks and solve routine problems.
6. Ability to be an active and effective team member.
7. Flexibility, enthusiasm and a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks.
8. To be curious and to look for efficient ways to solve routine issues.
9. Experience of delivering excellent customer service.
10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of people at all levels.
Desirable Skills
1. Experience of library cataloguing and classification with Dewey Decimal Classification.
2. Knowledge of publishing or historical (library or archive) collections and the challenges they face in the 21st century.
