About the role The Junior Systems Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining Teza’s systems and storage infrastructure. The Junior Systems Engineer will work closely with the development and trading operations teams to ensure the smooth functioning of all systems and applications. Key responsibilities/Day-to-day: Assist in Providing all levels of support for hardware and software internally to research, QA, and production environments. Provision laptops (Mac) and Linux servers, coordinate logistics and implement with other core team members. Support a global datacenter presence if necessary, both on-site and utilizing remote hands to facilitate planned installations and migrations. Manage Teza’s server Linux and storage infrastructure Automate manual operational processes Collaborate with the development and trading operations teams to ensure the smooth functioning of all systems and applications. Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve any issues. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including hardware and software problems. Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization’s data and systems. Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures. Participate in on-call support rotation to address critical issues and incidents promptly and effectively Provide technical support and guidance to end-users. Basic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field 3 years of experience in systems infrastructure operations or related field. Experience writing scripted automation tasks using bash, Perl or Python and deploying via a scheduling utility such as cron. Great organizational, communication and documentation skills. Comfortable with Windows, Mac, and Linux environments, including JAMF Pro Administration, application installation, hardware/software upgrades and administration. Nice to have Requirements Knowledge of storage platforms and filesystems Experience with virtualization platforms, preferably VMWare Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
