The opportunity
Our client is on the lookout for an experienced, self-motivated Lead Document Controller to support the Electrical & Mechanical installation project on a major Nuclear New Build project.
Salary Range: £40,000 - £65,000 per year
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: Based onsite in Bridgewater, Somerset
Clearance: Must be able to obtain the relevant BS clearance
The role
As the Lead Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing a small team of specialist resources tasked with controlling, filing, sorting, and retrieving electronically stored or hard copy documentation produced by technical teams, construction teams, or departments in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Support technical projects and departments.
Receive, catalogue, and store hard copies and electronic copies of technical drawings, reports, and related information in an orderly manner, in line with policies and procedures.
Allocate and control the document control system for the project work.
Ensure all electronic and hard copy filing is accurate and easily retrievable.
Respond promptly to requests for retrieving information, performing information searches, and providing general support to project or department personnel.
Accurately update information as required.
The role of the Document Controller is critical in supporting technical teams, construction teams, departments, and projects by ensuring the timely filing and storing of project-related documentation. Documentation may be confidential or sensitive and must be stored in compliance with client, company, and industry guidelines.You will have the following experience and skills
Self-driven and disciplined.
Ability to work independently.
Highly motivated and able to cope under pressure.
Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Ability to prioritise, manage time well, multitask, and troubleshoot.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, as you will frequently interact with internal and external business partners/stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Attention to detail, dependability, and trustworthiness are crucial, as you may work with complex and sensitive documents.
Experience with document control software, process mapping software, and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, Field View, and SharePoint, or demonstrable experience with similar platforms.Get in touch now
