We are looking for somebody who is or wants to be developed into a fully qualified professional accountant. This exciting career graded role will be part of the Corporate & Technical Team within the Finance Directorate, directly supporting the treasury related accounting requirements of the Council.
You will thrive on working with precise accuracy and diligence involving material monetary values. The role will use various software systems to support cashflow analysis, reporting and recording of transactions into the Council’s SAP finance system. The role supports the Finance Manager in the development of strategies and performance reporting in this business-critical area of finance, and you will have access to professional advisors and regulatory body advice to support your decision making.
You must be Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) fully qualified or equivalent and the role can encompass support to undertake your full professional qualification. For exceptional candidates who already have achieved their full CCAB qualification (CIPFA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA) and relevant local authority experience, they have the potential to be appointed on a salary of up to £47,966.
Depending on applicant qualifications and experience the salary scale will be either:
* Grade 12, £45,647.00 to £47,966.00 per annum [Full CCAB qualification (CIPFA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA) and relevant local authority experience]
* Career Graded 10-12, £36,778.00 to £47,966.00 per annum [Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT) or equivalent relevant qualification – required on entry, progression to the G12 salary will be upon completion of professional qualification and local authority experience]
