We are currently looking for candidates to join their teams on a full-time, temporary basis. Your new role We are looking for social housing professionals to join Birmingham City Council as Temporary Accommodation Support Officers. As a TA Support Officer, you will contact clients on the phone and meet them face to face, providing housing advice around their housing options as well as completing suitability assessments for the tenants. You will assist in the completion of housing applications (Part 6) so that applicants can move out of Temporary Accommodation and into more secure housing. You will also identify households that may meet the criteria for a tenancy conversion. It is imperative that you ensure that clients adhere to their license agreements and commence the escalation for breach of license or for not adhering to the clients’ personal housing plan. The contract is due to finish in March 2025 but may be extended dependent on workload. What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed in your application, you will need a background in Social Housing – this could be a housing officer, neighbourhood officer, homelessness officer etc. You will need knowledge of Legislation and Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act. This role requires an Enhanced DBS, which Hays will put into process for you free of charge. Driving and business insurance are needed for this role. In addition, this role will be an ASAP start,. What you'll get in return This role is a full-time, temporary position based in Birmingham. The role is £13.20 per hour, with a premium rate of £14.79 (PAYE)Due to the council going through a period of transition, permanent opportunities may be available.
