A well established and successful manufacturing organisation based in the Shrewsbury. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join the purchasing team.
Your new role
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of a portfolio of key direct categories. The role will partner with the operational management teams to ensure the availability of materials and cost minimisation, whilst also maximising stock optimisation levels and ensure quality levels are achieved. The Senior Buyer will utilise strategic sourcing and lead on relevant contract negotiations. Additionally, the role will be responsible for monitoring and managing supplier performance, as well as driving continuous improvement and mitigating risk. The postholder will manage category budgets and produce category management information reports. You will also manage some indirect spend.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will be a Senior Buyer with strong experience of direct procurement within a manufacturing organisation. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in strategic sourcing and negotiation, category management and supplier management. You have build collaborative working relationships, have strong negotiation skills and have a solutions-focused approach.
