Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Medicine & Care of the Elderly (COE) team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The role involves expert assessment, intervention, and discharge planning in a fast-paced acute hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions for patients in acute medical and elderly care settings.
2. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans.
3. Support timely discharge planning, ensuring continuity of care and promoting patient independence.
4. Maintain accurate documentation in line with NHS standards and guidelines.
5. Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the Occupational Therapy department.
Key Requirements
1. Minimum 18 months of post-qualification experience in an acute hospital setting.
2. Previous NHS experience is essential.
3. Strong skills in acute medicine and elderly care rehabilitation.
4. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage a complex caseload.
5. Excellent communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
