Position: SEN Learning Support Location: Portsmouth Salary: £12.83 per hour Start Date: Immediate or after Easter 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent GSL Education are seeking a proactive SEN Learning Support to work in Portsmouth's supportive and inclusive school environment. This role is ideal for a compassionate and patient individual passionate about helping students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) reach their full potential. What You’ll Do: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Assist with individual learning plans, adapting activities to meet students’ needs. Support students in developing independence, confidence, and social skills. Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement effective support strategies. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation as required. Support students in both classroom-based and practical activities, ensuring engagement and participation. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate updates with staff and parents. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or care setting. Understanding of various learning needs, including autism, speech & language difficulties, and SEMH needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff. Patience, adaptability, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs. A valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one). Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
