An exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated individual with a keen interest in developing their management and leadership skills as a permanent Night Nurse Practitioner for out-of-hours cover at CAH.
This new permanent position will be supported by the senior nurse team at CAH. It is an essential part of the out-of-hours service at CAH, given its peripheral location. While the role requires operational and governance oversight, this is supported by the out-of-hours team at the main site when needed (CSM and on-call HoN).
Working Hours: Nights (19:00 - 07:30) and weekend days (07:00 - 19:30).

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide high-quality nursing care across a diverse range of patients. You should also be committed to ongoing professional development and have evidence of such.
Training will be provided to ensure you have the necessary skills and tools to excel in your role and maintain patient and staff safety. This will include a three-month supernumerary training period to ensure you are well-equipped for your new role.

Job responsibilities
The jobholder will demonstrate evidence-based care in the independent assessment, clinical examination, planning of care, clinical decision making, diagnosis, treatment, evaluation, health promotion and safe discharge of specific client group within agreed protocols. The job holder will coordinate a multidisciplinary team of staff and implement nurse-led care. They will participate in mentorship and teaching programmes for multi-disciplinary groups within the department. The jobholder will provide senior nursing support, advice and professional leadership to a group clinical area.
The jobholder will take charge of the unit as required.
Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum of two years experience at staff nurse grade level or equivalent within specialty
* Insight into clinical specialty
* Insight into current issues in nursing/professional issues
* Standards of professional practice. Understanding of quality improvement practice

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on the NMC register with PIN
* Evidence of Post graduate education or equivalent experience professional development
* Recognised Nurse Practitioner qualification or evidence of completion of a competency-based clinical assessment and examination of patients knowledge and skills package
* Evidence of continued professional development and implementation in clinical practice within the last 12 months
* Understanding of training needs in relation to post
* Teaching qualification

* Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for post
* Ability to communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
* Ability to teach, supervise and assess qualified and unqualified staff.
