Your new role
Your new job role will be carrying out all aspects of Joinery work within a university setting. You will be required to complete PPM and reactive maintenance work across the campus.
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualifications required are City and Guilds Carpentry & Joinery level 3.
* A working knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace.
* CSCS card.
* Experience in 1st, 2nd, and final fix joinery.
* Fire door set knowledge and be able to do general maintenance on fire doors and final exit doors.
* Good knowledge of security lock suits.
* Be expected to work unassisted or within a team depending on the works being carried out, working closely with other trades such as electricians, mechanical, and handypersons.
* Carry out daily maintenance tasks including planned preventative maintenance, reactive and installation works.
* The ability to carry out physical work tasks and to be able to climb ladders, work at height, access confined spaces, and noisy environments such as plant rooms and workshops.
* Be flexible and adaptable attitude to duties undertaken and to work outside normal working hours when necessary.
* Good timekeeping.
* Be polite to work colleagues, University staff, and students.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will gain a long term temporary vacancy with a well-established university. You will work on a 2-shift rota: week 1 rota starts 8.00 am-4.00 pm Mon-Thursday, Friday 3.30 pm finish. Week 2 rota starts 10.00 am-6.00 pm Mon-Thursday, Friday 5.30 pm finish. Car parking is available and can be paid using the provided app.
