We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join a well-established multidisciplinary falls service. The service operates on a 7-day working pattern, and there is an expectation to contribute towards this pattern, including some public holidays.
The falls team visits patients in their own homes in the geographical area of Hull and East Riding (ER). We provide holistic assessment and intervention for patients who have fallen. It is essential that you are able to commute effectively across the Hull and ER geographical area. Throughout your role, you will work with well-established supportive multidisciplinary teams and receive regular support and supervision.
Main duties of the job
The Falls team is proactive in supporting professional development, and the successful candidate will have access to a range of learning and training opportunities, as well as attending a well-established Professional Development group.
The post holder will offer a high standard of evidence-based Occupational Therapy, working as part of the Hull and East Riding Falls Service. To be responsible for own autonomous practice and ensure effective patient/client care is maintained.

Qualifications
Essential
* Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Current HCPC Registration
Desirable
* Demonstrable experience as a Practice Educator of pre-registration students
* Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g., degree or post-graduate level or equivalent knowledge/experiential learning
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
* A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical and service areas, e.g., Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion
* Knowledge of Occupational Therapy models of practice, standardised assessments, and their use
* Basic IT skills
* Willingness to undertake and complete preceptorship
* Appropriate knowledge/experience of working in community and adult physical health clinical practice areas
* Understanding of caseload management and responsibilities
* Conversant in the 7 C's - Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, Commitment, and Candour and the values of the organisation
* Able to demonstrate effective inter-personal/communication skills
* Evidence of good time management skills
Desirable
* Full understanding of relevant policy, drivers and their application to clinical and service areas, e.g., NSF, Social Inclusion
