Team Overview Our integrated real estate team manages a wide range of transactions in all commercial property asset classes. We have planning, construction and property litigation specialists within our team and draw on local and international colleagues’ tax, finance, funds and corporate transactional expertise to deliver a full service in all areas of the market. Over a third of our diverse, 70-strong international practice are partners, which allows us to assemble teams that are tailored to each client’s needs and are truly partner led. The Role The successful candidate will carry out asset management work and transactions as part of the broader Real Estate team. You will oversee and supervise the paralegal team within the Real Estate department, focusing on asset management matters and pre- and post-completion paralegal duties, including as relate to HM Land Registry (HMLR) and HM Revenue and Customs. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and lead the real estate paralegal team, ensuring high-quality support is provided to other lawyers within the department. Supervision from fee earners directly on individual matters will still be required as appropriate across matters. Handle a range of asset management matters, including drafting, negotiating and completing common types of document (with supervision and delegation, as appropriate). Oversee and manage HMLR applications and HMRC submissions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements. Monitor HMLR and TM portals for registration and requisition matters. Work allocation for paralegal team, managing and monitoring the paralegal Teams channel. Coordinate and manage all aspects of asset management, including lease administration and AM update client calls. Handle pre- and post-completion tasks, including due diligence, searches, drafting completion statements, and managing completion processes. Develop and/or implement best practices and procedures for the real estate paralegal team. Provide training and mentorship to paralegals, enhancing their skills and knowledge in real estate law and procedures. Person Specification Significant commercial real estate experience either at a senior paralegal or GCILEx level or above, gained at a leading international, national or regional practice. Experience of acting for institutional investors, property funds or other financial institutions. A clear understanding of and enthusiasm for commercial real estate asset management work. Responsiveness and a track record of delivering excellent client service. Excellent drafting and negotiating skills. Willingness to take ownership of a range of asset management matters.
