Description About the role… We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and engaging Transport Planning Team Manager to join our successful team at our Screwfix contract based in Stafford. This is a rewarding position that will expect the successful individual to act in a proactive and supportive capacity to ensure continuous improvement of the end-to-end planning strategy. Please note this is a 12 Month Secondment. Working hours are 08:00am - 16:00pm Monday to Friday. What you’ll be doing… · You will be required to generate a deliverable plan for the maintenance and growth of the contract and provide support to the Transport Planning Manager with focus on key areas such as: mileage, reduction, number of routes & maximising driver utilisation · Be able to interface with varying levels of the business ranging from internal Site Leaders / Customer Facing Unit Directors to Trade Counter Managers and Driver Colleagues · Assist the Transport Planning Manager and analyse store sales data vs fleet capacity ensuring maximum in store availability for the end customer · Analyse planning forecast data to advise on fleet procurement plans with recommendation on trailer type and specification to optimise the network plan · Manage the transport planning team with their utilisation of the Paragon planning system to produce optimal schedules to meet the customers demand · Consider decisions that affect budget in conjunction with the finance and operations functions About You… · Should have successful practical experience of supervisory or management work within a transport operation. · Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with all levels of the business. · Excellent organisational skills and be able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering consistent quality in a time-constrained operation. · Have sound analytical skills and apply logic in a fast-moving environment. · Exhibit a high degree of flexibility and be able to work as part of a team. · Be a proven motivator of staff, and be able to develop a team, ensuring that they are well informed, motivated and managed effectively to achieve personal goals as well as operational KPI's.
