About the School - St Clare's
St. Clare’s is a leading independent school for children aged 2 ½ to 18 years of age, carrying a very strong academic profile.
Located in the historic village of Newton, we are close to the coast on the outskirts of Porthcawl, South Wales. St Clare's has a rich tradition of providing exceptional education for over 85 years to pupils from Nursery all the way through to Sixth Form.
The St Clare’s approach reaps rewards, with results from academic yearly progress tests exceeding the national average in all core subjects. We are particularly proud to be in the top 5% of top-performing A-Level schools in the UK for ALPS (A-Level Performance System) since 2018.
Our Nursery has won the Day nurseries UK "Top 20" Award (Wales) for 4 years in a row, based purely on our parents' 10/10 reviews scores.
The school now has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Cleaner to join our fantastic team.

About the role
As a Cleaner, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the school environment. Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning offices, break areas, communal spaces, washrooms, and toilets. You will also ensure that consumables are restocked, rubbish bins are emptied, and touch points are regularly cleaned to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors. You will work closely with the Facilities Manager, assisting in covering absences and carrying out deep cleaning tasks as needed. This role requires flexibility as your responsibilities may change on a rota basis, and you will need to be adaptable to support the cleanliness needs of the school.
This is a permanent, part-time role immediately available.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. You should be able to work independently as well as part of a team, with excellent organisational and time management skills. Previous cleaning experience is desirable, and you should be able to follow instructions carefully. A positive, "can-do" attitude and good communication skills are essential, and a basic understanding of computers to respond to emails and complete online training would be an advantage.
If you are dedicated to doing a great job and ensuring a clean and safe environment for the school community, we encourage you to apply.
