Core Responsibilities
1. Undertake the day-to-day tasks to maintain a secure and safe site, ensuring a fully focused and compliant operation in accordance with site expectations.
2. Operate a computerized weighbridge system.
3. Adhere to communication requirements, maintain records of delivery, and manage all other required gate records.
4. Manage access control and gate duties; conduct staff and vehicle searches; oversee traffic management and car park duties; perform building patrols.
5. Provide an effective departmental security presence and proactive response service.
6. Perform switchboard and reception duties.
7. Handle key control.
8. Monitor site fire alarm systems.
9. Monitor CCTV and intruder alarm systems.
10. Conduct general administration duties.
11. Occasionally assist with site postal and parcel service, including use of a franking machine.
Job Qualifications
1. Good IT skills.
2. Excellent communication skills, including face-to-face, telephone, and email.
3. Experience dealing with people, including those whose first language is not English.
4. Availability to work shifts after training (typically about 3 weeks).
5. Must hold a current full driving licence.
6. Team player and able to work independently.
7. A flexible and responsive approach is required to balance conflicting and changing pressures in the work environment in a respectful and constructive way.
8. Commitment to providing a strong focus on customer service is essential to maintain the high standards and professionalism of the site.
During Probation:
Mon-Fri day shifts at £12.24/hr
On Shift Pattern: following the probationary period, 8 hr shifts 7 on 2 off; 7 on 2 off; 7 on 10 off £574.33 weekly
There is a requirement to cover other workers during sickness or holidays.
Shifts may then be extended to become 12 hrs.
