Currently, this covers across the Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire and Hampshire areas and the MRI service across Lincolnshire and Buckinghamshire. The operative is also responsible for checking and refilling potable water levels on the units when in situ which is essential for sanitary handwashing and also safe removal and disposal of grey waste water at the designated point.
Working 37.5 hrs per week over 5 days between Monday and Sunday. Shifts will be consecutive days with 2 rest days together.
Shifts start around 2pm although there will be a requirement for applicants to be flexible.
What you'll be doing
The ideal candidate for this role would have knowledge of moving medical units and/or MRI trailers; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate. Range of duties and responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
* Full working knowledge and understanding of GB Domestic and EU drivers’ hours regulations essential.
* Comply with all relevant driving and road transport legislation.
* Ability to flex work hours within GB domestic and/or EU DHR to suit daily workload as required.
* Daily completion of driver log book and where required defects log.
* Check & maintain fuel, oil and water levels daily in tractor and generator units.
* Ensure the routine PMI, servicing and MOT program is adhered to, notifying the contractor and scheduling the unit within down time to clinical activity.
* Inform manager of any vehicle or trailer defects prior to service schedule.
* Maintain tractor unit interior and exterior ensuring it is kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
* Maintain mobile unit exterior ensuring it is kept in a clean condition at all times.
* Report breakdowns and accidents, calling recovery or repair agents as required.
* Any other relevant duties as directed by your line manager or as required to support the medical staff on the unit.
What we’ll look for in you

Qualifications:
* Class C+E driving licence.
* Current and valid DCPC holder.
* Digi-Tacho card holder.
* Extensive HGV driving experience.
Skills and knowledge:
* Excellent Communication skills.
* Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
* Literate and numerate.
* Ability to understand and follow instructions.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to prioritise own workload.
* Ability to record information accurately.
* Ability to manage working hours to ensure legal compliance.
* Good understanding and knowledge of national road networks.
