Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and knowledge transfer. - THE ROLE - The post holder will define, implement, and manage technical support services for teaching, research, and other activities of the school. - ABOUT YOU - - Educated to degree level in a computing or related discipline, or hold an equivalent professional qualification relevant to the post. - Extensive experience of working in a computing environment to include: the analysis, design, development, construction, and modification of complex and sophisticated components/systems and the operation, maintenance, testing, diagnosis, and repair of equipment/systems. - Extensive experience of dealing with external suppliers and resource management for computing laboratories. - Practical experience of managing/implementing COSHH and Risk Assessment procedures. - Evidence of providing technical guidance, advice, and instruction in the use of specialist equipment and systems. - Evidence of high-level skills in administrating Microsoft Windows Server and Unix Server installations. - Evidence of investigating and researching emerging technologies. - Flexibility with regards to working hours and willingness to travel on occasion to meet the needs of the post.
