About us
At Lloyds Banking Group, we’re driven by a clear purpose - to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities.
About this opportunity
We're passionate about enabling the group to deliver against our environmental strategy ambitions, protect nature and support the UK’s ambition to be Net Zero by 2050. If you're too, we could be a great fit!
We're a high profile and impactful team. The Supply Chain & Technology Sustainability Team sits within Group Sourcing & Supplier Management, and we're responsible for ensuring we improve the sustainability impacts of our supply chain. This includes reducing the carbon emissions that our suppliers generate and ensuring our suppliers meet other broader Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) requirements around issues such as ethics, modern slavery, human rights and nature.
This role is crucial in supporting how we improve the assessment and compliance of our suppliers (new and existing) against evolving ESG requirements. We align ourselves to the Group’s Sustainability strategy and ambitions and in particular the Group’s public ambition to reduce supply chain emissions by 50% by 2030, on the path to net zero by 2050.
We're looking for someone who wants to make a difference. You'll be passionate about contributing to a more sustainable future, staying up to date with current affairs and bringing new ideas into the team. This is a great opportunity to join a successful team, with significant opportunities for cross divisional engagement and external collaboration.
In this role you’ll be designing and delivering a data strategy. Primarily focusing on supply chains, you’ll be working to identify how we can use the data we have to better inform future plans, mapping existing data gaps and finding ways to close those gaps, as well as reviewing and updating the tooling approach. Anticipate future trends and developments, and engage in hands-on tasks like research, data analysis, information visualization, and report creation.
What you'll do
* Developing a roadmap for data and tools to identify current and future data gaps in line with regulatory requirements and customer needs. This includes crafting and driving a plan to acquire data that is currently unavailable, as well as evaluating existing and potential tools.
* Acting as a subject matter expert by maintaining an in-depth understanding of sustainability data and insights and regulatory requirements.
* Providing data-driven insights using existing data sets to support decision making around future priorities and funding.
* Developing data tools and dashboards to support the team to self-serve the data required to manage day to day activities.
* Working with internal partners to craft, build and continuously evolve a sustainability performance measurement framework.
* Working closely with governance and reporting colleagues to ensure that data is accurate, complete and fit for purpose for sharing with internal and external stakeholders.
* Collaborate with Group Sourcing & Supplier Management Data team, Chief Data Office and key team members to ensure alignment of strategy with that of the wider group, and improve collaboration across existing ESG data programmes and data activity.
What you'll need
* Strategic thinking: able to see the bigger picture and understand the current challenges and opportunities within the context of UK and global regulation and priorities and focus areas for Lloyds Banking Group, converting this into an effective data strategy and roadmap. Experience of building data strategy or roadmaps previously is critical for this role.
* Data Analysis: Adept at manipulating data sets to help set strategy, advise decision-making, deliver process improvements and handle performance. Strong proficiency using tools such as Excel and Power BI and able to demonstrate experience working to engineer and analyse large datasets using a variety of tools and systems.
* Handling complexity: able to produce reports/presentations and communications that convert sophisticated ideas/data in a simple and meaningful way.
* Collaboration: management of multiple key stakeholders across the business to deliver on a variety of projects simultaneously.
* Project Delivery: evidence of delivery in a fast-paced environment across multiple projects at the same time.
* Understanding of LBG climate goals: a good knowledge of LBGs climate goals with an understanding of what actions will influence the business in achieving these goals.
* Understanding of current and future ESG regulatory reporting requirements.
* Knowledge or experience of CDP, EcoVadis or similar ESG data disclosure and reporting platforms.
* Experience working on ESG-based projects or within a team primarily focused on sourcing or supply chain management.
