Southern Water is looking for a Capital Projects Customer Officer to join our team, helping to shape the future of our water infrastructure capital project (large scale construction projects to install new equipment), while delivering exceptional customer engagement. If you're a proactive communicator with experience in customer and community engagement, we want to hear from you Your Role: As a Capital Projects Customer Officer, you’ll take charge of our customer engagement activities related to Southern Water’s investment programme. Working closely with our communities, residents, and internal teams, you’ll ensure that project communications are consistent, transparent, and effective. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing our reputation and reducing customer complaints associated with capital projects. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will lead the development and execution of communication plans for capital projects, ensuring clear and consistent messaging with delivery partners. You’ll focus on reducing complaints through proactive, targeted engagement and regular community site visits, building strong relationships with local people. As the main contact for community-related queries, you'll ensure customer concerns are addressed swiftly and help drive improvements in communication practices. Additionally, you’ll make sure all communications meet regulatory and brand standards. What You’ll Bring: You’ll bring experience in customer management and communications, with a strong ability to use different channels effectively. Skilled in building relationships with customers, you’ll confidently manage senior-level interactions and present complex information clearly. As a strategic thinker, you’ll work independently, tackling challenges with resilience and ensuring that communication is at the heart of project success. You’ll also bring experience in running campaigns, using various communication channels like media and letters. With a background that could be from managing events to education, you’ll have developed the skills to juggle multiple tasks, manage timelines, and execute communication strategies effectively.
