The salary range for this role is £24,500 to £27,000 per annum based on a 35 hour working week.
About The Organisation
Learning Space is a Surrey based charity providing emotional wellbeing and mental health support through solutions focused interventions to children and young people. They are looking to recruit a number of Community Wellbeing Mentors to their team.
The charity has three bases in Redhill, Tadworth and Guildford. They are a charitable organisation which aims to improve the lives of children, young people and their families.
Since 1997 they have offered 1:1 and group support for a range of emotional needs including low self-esteem, anxiety, anger, relationships, bereavement, bullying and neurodevelopmental needs. Their methodology is solution focused, and their approach is to encourage children and young people to recognise and build on their existing strengths.
About The Role
The successful candidate will work as part of the Community Wellbeing team providing strengths-based solution focused interventions through 1:1 and group work for children, young people, and families across three geographical based areas in Surrey. The post holder will be encouraged to support and grow their shared learning culture and as part of the wider Surrey Wellbeing Partnership offer.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in celebrating and supporting children and young people to thrive using a range of creative, innovative and collaborative methods to support the safety and wellbeing of children and young people to improve mental health. The focus will be on providing evidence-based interventions to improve emotional health and build resilience. Post holders will work within the community, working systemically with families and schools to maximise outcomes for children and young people.

About You!
The Ideal Candidate will have:
1. Minimum of two years’ experience of working with children, young people, and their parents.
2. Experience of working with young people and families with multiple and / or complex needs.
3. Knowledge of emotional and mental health issues which affect children and young people including depression, anxiety, relationships, stress, anger management, self-image, and bullying.
4. An ability to build trust with, and relate well to children, young people and parents/carers.
5. A clean drivers license and access to a car.
