We are looking for people who have previously worked with individuals in relation to substance misuse or who have equivalent experience working in health, criminal justice or social care settings.
Main duties of the job
As a member of our team you will be supporting people who access the service for help with their drug or alcohol use. This exciting role will also continue to allow us to improve the work we have already developed around supporting clients within the criminal justice system. The role will include covering the courts, prisons and custody suites on a regular basis; working with people awarded a community sentence where mental health, drugs and/or alcohol have been identified; work closely and collaborate with partner agencies to manage these orders; work directly with individuals released from prison and support multi-agency plans around them.
About us
Everyone should feel comfortable getting the support they need for issues with drugs, alcohol or mental health. At We Are With You we work with people on their own goals, whether that's staying safe and healthy, making small changes or stopping an unwanted habit altogether. We give people support in a way that's right for them either face to face in their local service, community or online. We provide a free and confidential service without judgement to more than 100,000 people a year. We use our expertise to improve the help available and raise awareness around drugs, alcohol and mental health so that more people can get support. We Are With You.
Job responsibilities
All applicants need to submit a CV and a covering letter on why you should be considered for this role. Applications will not be accepted if no covering letter is included. Please note that this role may close early should sufficient applications be received, so early application is advised. This is a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall's most excluded and disadvantaged people. Successful candidates will work as part of the Criminal Justice Liaison Team alongside in-house services which include prescribing and clinical, outreach, hospital and adult community and a residential rehabilitation facility. You will have excellent communication and report writing skills, be able to collaboratively work as part of a team and to independently manage a caseload. You may have an awareness of working in a trauma informed way (while this is desirable, training will be provided). Most of all you will demonstrate the enthusiasm to motivate our service users to make the changes they want and need to change their lives for the better.
