At the Princess of Wales Hospital, we are continually striving to improve patients’ experiences and outcomes. We are a 24 bedded ward, with 6 single bedded cubicles, specialising in both Gastroenterology and general medicine. You will be supported by the ward manger and senior nurse to develop your leadership skills and will be encouraged and supported to undertake education in order to progress. You will also be supported to learn new skills required of a band 6 in order to meet the needs of the team management and to assist the ward manager with all areas of ward management. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our team as a Junior Sister / Charge Nurse. You will need to be able to provide leadership in the clinical area, ensuring the delivery of high quality nursing care and will be part of an excellent senior team of a ward manager and two band 6 sisters. The successful candidate will be a team player, be able to manage and organise their area and most importantly, have quality and patient safety at the heart of all they do. The applicant will have the commitment and desire to support and further develop the ward based team. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful individual to develop their skills, knowledge and experience in Gastroenterology medicine. The applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and will need to provide evidence of continuous professional development.
