Operations Management Accountant
Hays Accountancy & Finance are supporting a manufacturing company recruiting an Operations Management Accountant to join their Finance Team at their Plants and Flowers site in Whittlesey.
* This is a site-based role - working a minimum of 4 days in the office (subject to the needs of the business).
* Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Production of timely and accurate weekly and monthly accounts and financial analysis.
* Completing monthly accruals to ensure costs reflected in the correct month within the accounts.
* Assisting in preparation of the monthly forecast, annual plan and 3-year planning exercises.
* Completing regular financial analysis for both labour and yield to enable the operational teams to be proactive in mitigating financial losses.
* Support of Stock Management - Packaging & Raw Material.
* Controlling and challenging overhead spending to identify opportunities for savings and mitigation to prevent overspending.
* Delivering financial training to non-finance stakeholders to ensure teams are clear and accountable on their roles in the finance process.
* Driving sustainability of existing savings and providing the financials where required to identify new opportunities in the future.
* Completing raw material and packaging stock audits across all sites and ensuring any obsolete stock is written off the system.
* Challenging track requests for sites to keep packing costs realistic and the lowest possible cost for the operational teams.
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
* Manufacturing experience of at least 1 year (food manufacturing would be advantageous).
* Business partnering experience.
* Strong analytical mindset and variance analysis skills.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Good stakeholder management.
* Strong communication skills.
* Prophet / D365 / Anaplan skills (desirable).
