As the Credit & Collections Manager, you will maintain and monitor credit policies, controls, and procedures for the EMEA region and drive the cash collection, credit approvals and collection strategy directly, for the UK and Ireland region. You will set targets and enhance collections performance through coaching and direct involvement and will manage the central Credit Control Team covering a Pan European customer portfolio ensuring an overall organized, timely and responsive transaction management process. Overall you will effectively manage debtor risks and credit activities to optimize sales while minimizing bad debt. Additionally, you will oversee and manage Accenture partner staff, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, controls, and targets. Your role will involve creating innovative strategies and developing transformation initiatives in line with our future finance direction, including the integration of new digital tools.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Implement, maintain, coach, mentoring and monitor Credit & collection management policies and (authorization) procedures incl. compliance with credit audit procedures and bad debts.
2. Monitor targets, in conjunction with European CFO, Canon Europe Customer Finance Director, -, European Business Unit Controllers and local NSO Financial Controllers, for receivables collection in relevant subcategories (e.g. by channel, customer type, geography, etc.).
3. Manage the UK/Ireland and Canon Europe Credit and Collections Team
4. Support and implement E2E strategy (organisation, systems and processes) within Credit Management and Collections.
5. Accountable for Customer Finance Teams (Canon UK / Ireland & EMEA ) and Accenture BPO. Meet AR & Collection SLA’s by providing support & guidance on credit limits, payment terms, disputes & contract issues affecting payment.
6. Support Cash forecasting with Treasury using collection results, expected payments/promises and forecast due date analysis.
7. Manage & implement Change Management for Customer Finance functions.
8. Report on key performance indicators and communicate performance to Canon finance Leadership team.

What we ask
25. Educated to degree level or similar, appropriate Financial or Credit Management Qualifications is desirable e.g. MICM, ACCA, CIMA, etc. Other business qualifications such as an MBA or similar is a plus.
26. Excellent credit management proficiency in a large international company environment
27. Good numeracy skills incl. proficiency in financial statement analysis
28. Considerable experience of negotiating directly with customers and solving difficult disputes supported by evidence of competent performance.
29. Proficiency in establishing and maintaining credit policies and managing credit in emerging markets
30. Experience in major ERP systems (Oracle), excel pivot tables, data analytics and workflow tools
31. Change management experience in an international organization either as a lead or expert resource for the project.
